How to

Step 1: How to unbox your printer

  1. Initially, cut open the printer box carefully and take the brand new HP printer out.
  2. Now, place it on a flat surface and peel off all the tapes on the printer surface.
  3. Then, remove all the packing material off the printer's outer and inner areas.
  4. Here, throw these tapes and packing materials for recycling.
  5. How to connect power cable & display settings
  6. To connect the HP printer to the power supply, check the printer box for the accessories.
  7. Generally, HP offers the brand new printer, power cord, cartridges, driver installation CD, and some sample papers.
  8. Now, grab the power cord and connect it between the new HP Printer and the wall socket.
  9. Then, press the power button to turn on the printer and then proceed to set up the display settings.

NOTE: For printer with display: Use the touch Panel and for without display, you can change the settings on the driver installation Wizard page.

Step 2: How to connect power cable & display settings on your printer

  1. Now grab the brand new cartridges from the pack and keep them ready for installation.
  2. Then, open the HP Printer cartridge access door (mostly under the scanner unit) and wait for the carrier to park at the center.
  3. Now, unwrap the cartridges from the slot and peel off the orange protective tape.
  4. Here, be careful not to touch the copper contact heads.
  5. Then, insert the cartridges into the right slots and close the access door.

Step 3: How to Install Setup Cartridges

  1. Now grab the brand new cartridges from the pack and keep them ready for installation.
  2. Then, open the HP Printer cartridge access door (mostly under the scanner unit) and wait for the carrier to park at the center.
  3. Now, unwrap the cartridges from the slot and peel off the orange protective tape.
  4. Here, be careful not to touch the copper contact heads.
  5. Then, insert the cartridges into the right slots and close the access door.

Step 4: How to Load paper on tray

  1. To load paper into the HP Printer tray, use the sample papers that came in the pack with the printer.
  2. Then, extend the paper input tray and slide the paper guides to the corner.
  3. Now, place a bunch of US Letter sized papers into the tray and adjust the guides to fit the edges of the paper.
  4. Then, print an alignment page to check the paper loading status.

Step 5: How to Download & install driver

  1. You may use the Driver installation CD that comes in the pack with the printer. However, this CD has the basic and outdated version of HP Printer Drivers.
  2. You can download the latest HP Printer Setup driver and software from the driver download page.
  3. After downloading the files to your computer, initiate the AutoRun file and proceed further with the set of instructions on the screen.
  4. Then, complete the driver installation process with the installation wizard.

Drivers and downloads (win & mac)

You can now download and install the latest and compatible HP Printer Setup drivers and software for both Windows and MAC. Most of the HP printers are compatible with the OS versions as below:

Windows OS versions: Windows 7, Vista, 8, 8.1, and 10.

MAC OS versions: MAC OS 10.7 or later.
